ABOUT ME

I  teach juniors and seniors at Northwestern High School in a rural area of Pennsylvania located near Lake Erie.  I have been teaching for 18 years and have taught Biology, General Science, Chemistry, and Environmental Science.  Currently I teach Chemistry and Environmental Science.  I have obtained several educational degrees including an AA in Veterinary Science from Garrett Community College, BS in Biology from Frostburg State University, Master’s Equivalency from Pennsylvania Department of Education, and a MS in Educational Strategies and Techniques from Wilkes University.  Currently, I am working toward my Doctorate in Educational Leadership through Wilkes University.   Actively involved in the STEM initiative at my school, I seek to involve youth in independent research projects and collaborative research with scientists around the world.  I am married and have two grown children, one of which is an elementary school teacher and the other is a chemist.  My hobbies include outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, camping, fishing, and horseback riding.  My motives for participating in TGC are to gain insight and professional skills for global education that can be integrated into my school and community.
